Emerald E-Route - December 2007.
In this issue:
1. "Burns Supper - 25th January 2008"
2. "Major Rallies for Field Sports held in Navan & Gowran "
3. "NI Forest Service - "Shooting Letting"
1. "Burns Night a "Date for your Diary"
Countryside Alliance Ireland is hosting a fundraising Burns Supper on Friday 25th January 2008 at the Barn, Larchfield Estate, Lisburn.
The evening will commence with a hot whisky reception at 7:00pm, followed by supper (catered for by Posh Nosh) and a small auction. McStocker Ceilidh Band will provide the formal entertainment with traditional Scottish dancing and a 'caller' to call the dances.
Tables will be made up of 8 people and the cost is £55 per ticket
The Menu is a traditional Burns Night Supper complete with two bottles of wine per table and whisky for the toasts; all included in the cost. In true Scottish style, the haggis will be piped in to dinner and the traditional addresses will be made. All in all it promises to be a wonderful evening - or 'smashin' as they may say in Scotland!.
We do hope you can come and join us, so book your table now by calling Ashley on 028-9263-9911 or 048-9263-9911.
2. "Field Sports Supporters attend Rallies in Navan & Gowran"
Countryside Alliance Ireland attended a major rally at Gowran that was organised by the Hunting Association of Ireland and Face Ireland, in response to inaction by the Minister of the Environement John Gormley, to issue a licence to the Ward Union, and his intention to implement the Puppy Farming legislation without an exemption for Hunt Kennels and Gundog Establishements.
This blatant lack of action by the Minister, shows that the Green Party's manifesto is being implemented by the back door and as it was certainly not included in their published document for government.
Never in the history of Irish Government have the Country Sports community been so let down by the Finna Fail Government. W e urge you to speak to your TD's and put as much pressure on them to ensure that Minister Gormley acts in a positive way that will see these issues resolved.
We will keep you informed over the coming weeks.
3. "NI Forest Service - "Shooting Letting"
The Forest Service of Northern Ireland has asked us to inform our members that they will be advertising areas for shooting letting in the Belfast Telegraph, The Irish News and The News Letter in the week commencing 21st January and 28th January 2008.
This information can also be found on the Forest Service website at www.forestserviceni.gov.uk
