South Africa which is located in one of the best hunting areas in the Eastern Cape covering an area in excess of 25,000 acres will give a presentation about the hunting methods and quarry in the Eastern Cape. Chinese muntjac deer have significant ecological and economic impacts in Great Britain and, disturbingly, are now found in captivity and in the wild throughout Ireland. Dr Jamie Dick presents his 'muntjac roadshow', which deals with muntjac identification, life-cycle, behaviour, ecology and impacts on animals, plants and humans. Dr Jamie Dick's presentation will also detail collation of evidence of muntjac in captivity and free-living throughout Ireland. Methods of eradication and control are explored, much from personal experiences stalking muntjac in England. The roadshow is a combination of slides, mounted specimens, skulls, casts of footprints, recordings of their calls and other interactive material.
