The 30th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Wild Deer Association of Ireland (WDAI) will be held on Saturday May 14th 2011 at 7.30pm sharp in the Kilcoran Lodge Hotel, Cahir, Co. Tipperary you can contact the hotel on 052 7441288 for accommodation, don’t forget to ask for our preferential rate. The committee would ask all members to attend, as there are many important issues to discuss. Following the AGM the chefs at Kilcoran Lodge will serve a Venison Banquet, starting at 9.00pm (€25 per person), family members are also welcome. In conjunction with the AGM the annual Trophy Head competition will be held, categories have been extended this year to now include - Best Fallow – Best Sika – Best Red - Most Unusual - Best Overall. All heads must be presented for judging no later than 7pm, while all heads can be displayed only heads taken in the 2010/11 season can be entered into the competition. In memory of our former Chairman John Creedon, we will also host the John Creedon Memorial Award for Wildlife Photography sponsored by Countryside Alliance Ireland, winning entries will be included in our 2012 Calendar. Competition rules are available on www.wilddeerireland.com <http://www.wilddeerireland.com/> The following morning May 15th renowned Wildlife Photographer, Fran Byrne will host a Wildlife Photography Workshop and Field Trip. This must attend event is aimed at both beginners and advanced photographers. Fran's vast experience will help you achieve that perfect shot. A member’s draw will also take place with many fantastic deer stalking related prizes to win. There will also be a display of African game species and a number of exhibitors for members to view.
