The Business and Enterprise Committee has set up an online forum to listen to the views of individuals and businesses who use post offices. The post office network - now reduced to 11,500 branches - provides vital services. Its importance is reflected in the £150 million public subsidy it receives each year. But many of its services are now also available through other channels, particularly online.
How is the post office network important to you? What services must the public be able to access through the post office network, regardless of whether they are profitable? What new services could help make the network more profitable and help reduce the subsidy it receives?
The forum will run until 10th March 2009 and the posts will help shape the recommendations the Committee makes to the Government.
