Fish FarmAnyone who cares about the beautiful Ballynahinch fishery – or any of the wild fisheries of the West of Ireland – is strongly encouraged to sign the new online petition against the scandalous resumption of salmon farming in Bertraghboy Bay (the estuary of the Ballynahinch and Gowla fisheries) in Connemara. The reopening of the farm poses a real and grave threat to the brilliant recovery in salmon and seatrout runs witnessed at Ballynahinch over the past three years. One of the operators of the new farm, has arguably the worst record for lice control of any salmon farmer in the whole of Ireland over the past two decades.
