Lough Erne Wildfowlers Council - Warden Meeting Print E-mail
Friday, 19 August 2011
The Wild Duck Inn, Lisbellaw was the venue on Wednesday night (17 August) for a meeting of the affiliated clubs of Lough Erne Wildfowlers Council (LEWC).  This meeting was held to discuss the warden scheme which is part of LEWC’s ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ with the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure (DCAL).

The wardens will act as the ‘eyes and ears’ on Upper and Lower Lough Erne in the autumn and winter months.  Should the wardens have any concerns on issues such as planning, environmental pollution or contraventions of wildlife laws they will report these to the relevant bodies.

Countryside Alliance Ireland was delighted to be invited to the meeting and commended LEWC on this very positive initiative which helps to highlight the conservation and environmental benefits of country sports.
